I have meant to read this for years...I remember it being read to me age nine at school and sitting on a scratchy carpet waiting for the bell to be rung for home time. I have borrowed my husbands childhood copy which makes it all the more special.

Romance! This is lovely and has made want to read more Elizabeth Gaskell.
